You were made for more than the dark you’re standing in.
A short word about the God who comes looking — before you go looking for Him.
“The people walking in darkness have seen a great light.”
ISAIAH 9:2
Where we actually are
Most of us are running two lives at once — the one people see, and the one we go quiet about. Not because we’re worse than anyone else, but because something in us knows the gap between who we are and who we were meant to be.
The Bible has a plain word for that gap: sin. Not just the big, headline failures — the everyday drift of living for ourselves instead of for God.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” — Romans 3:23
Left alone, that gap only widens. It separates us from the one relationship every other relationship depends on.
The rescue that already happened
Here’s the news that gives this whole page its name: God didn’t wait for us to close the gap ourselves. He crossed it.
Jesus — fully God, fully human — lived the life we couldn’t live, then took the death we deserved. Three days later, He walked out of the grave, breaking death’s hold for good.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
JOHN 3:16
This isn’t a reward for good behavior. It’s a gift for anyone willing to receive it.
What it looks like to respond
-
1
Admit it. Be honest with God about the gap — no performance, just the truth.
-
2
Believe it. Jesus died and rose again to close that gap for you personally.
-
3
Receive it. Ask Him to lead your life, starting today.
A simple prayer, if you’re ready:
“God, I know I’ve lived for myself. I believe Jesus died and rose for me. I’m asking You to forgive me and lead my life from here. Thank You for meeting me in the dark. Amen.”
You don’t walk this out alone
If you prayed that prayer — or you’re just not sure yet — we’d love to walk with you. No pressure, just people.
